The basics
What is BBB One?
BBB One is an app for joining BigBlueButton meetings. Instead of working in a browser tab, you get a real app on your computer or phone, with proper control over your microphone, camera, and screen.
Who makes it?
RIADVICE, a certified BigBlueButton service provider. The same team builds the app and supports it.
Is this the same as BigBlueButton?
BigBlueButton is the meeting server. BBB One is an app that connects to it. You still need a BigBlueButton server, and BBB One is what your people use to join.
Do I still need a BigBlueButton server?
Yes. BBB One connects to the servers your organisation uses. If you do not have one yet, book a demo and we will sort that out with you.
Getting started
How do I join a meeting?
Open the app and use the link you were sent. There is nothing to set up before your first meeting.
Do my participants need an account?
No. They join from the link you send them.
Which devices does it run on?
Windows today. Mac, Linux, iPhone, and Android are coming soon.
How do I install it on many computers at once?
We provide signed installers that your IT team can deploy with the tools it already uses. Ask us and we will send the details.
How do I know when there is a new version?
Every release is listed on the What's new page, with what changed in plain words.
In the meeting
Can I share my screen?
Yes, your whole screen or a single window. On iPhone this is coming soon.
Can I show slides and write on them?
Yes. Upload your file, show it to the room, and draw or write on it while you talk.
Can I split people into groups?
Yes. Create breakout rooms, move between them, and bring everyone back when time is up.
Can I record a meeting?
Yes, when your server allows recording. The recording is kept by your server, not by us.
Can I blur my background?
Yes on Windows, Mac, and Linux. On phones it is coming soon.
What if my connection is poor?
The app shows how good your connection is and keeps the meeting going. You can switch to listening only if your line cannot carry video.
Languages and access
Which languages does it speak?
20 languages. The app picks yours automatically and you can change it at any time.
Does it work in Arabic?
Yes. The whole app reads right to left, not just the text.
Are there captions?
Yes, live captions can be turned on during a meeting.
Data and buying
Where is our data kept?
On the BigBlueButton servers your organisation uses. The app does not move your meetings, recordings, or files anywhere else.
Can we put our own brand on the app?
Yes. The app can carry your name, your icon, and your colours, and be published under your own store accounts. Tell us how far you want to go.
How much does it cost?
It depends on how many people you meet with and how you want it set up. Book a short call and we will give you a straight answer.
Is there a free version?
BBB One comes with your RIADVICE hosting or support plan. Book a demo and we will show you what fits your size and budget.
How do we get support?
Through RIADVICE, with a service level agreement behind it. Existing customers can use the support portal.
